MisterKeeks
Hi all, I have Mojave and Clover running on this machine, but I'm trying to do a clean install of Catalina/OpenCore to a new disk. I've been following the official OpenCore guides. I have applied the ECDV to EC patch in the config.plist, yet the laptop still hangs on apfs_module_start. It's my understanding that SSDT_EC.aml is not to be used for laptops, as the embedded controller is necessary for battery info. This isn't my first Hackintosh, but it is my first time using OpenCore. I wouldn't be surprised if I am making a stupid mistake somewhere. An image of the file structure in my USB is attached, as well as an image of the patch in config.plist showing the relevant patches. A zipped EFI folder is also attached. Also of note, the boot hangs at LOG:EXITBS:START unless RebuildAppleMemoryMap is set to FALSE and SetupVirtualMap is set to TRUE. Not sure why this is. The laptop is a Dell 5378 i7-7500U Intel HD 620 (no discrete) 8GB DDR4 (one stick) 250GB Samsung SATA SSD EFI.zip DSDT.aml 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/343624-apfs_module_start-despite-ecdv-ec-patch-in-configplist-dell-5378-laptop-kaby-lake/ Share on other sites
