144hz on a 60hz laptop LCD

I have a Dell G5 15 5590. My LCD monitor is capable of 144hz. However Dell disabled the ability for the internal screen to be set that high.

 

Any chance for a DSDT override or such that can finally let me achieve it?

 

In Ubuntu, it registers the 144hz option, but everytime I apply it it does not activate. In macOS using ResXtreme, the program sees the 144hz option, but does not activate it as well.
