staritbusfans
Hello all, After several hours working, my "ancient" hackintosh build works fine except this problem. Keep getting this in my system.log while typing in Chinese: Feb 13 00:21:20 iMac-Home com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.apple.inputmethod.SCIM[1471]): Service exited due to SIGILL | sent by exc handler[1471] Feb 13 00:21:20 iMac-Home com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.apple.inputmethod.SCIM[1472]): Service exited due to SIGILL | sent by exc handler[1472] Feb 13 00:21:22 iMac-Home com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.apple.inputmethod.SCIM[1473]): Service exited due to SIGILL | sent by exc handler[1473] See this in Crash Report: First part of Detailed report: Process: SCIM_Extension [3620] Path: /System/Library/Input Methods/SCIM.app/Contents/PlugIns/SCIM_Extension.appex/Contents/MacOS/SCIM_Extension Identifier: com.apple.inputmethod.SCIM Version: 104 (449) Build Info: ChineseIM-449000000000000~1174 Code Type: X86-64 (Native) Parent Process: ??? (Clean Installation: Wipe everything+MAS image) No luck. 10.14.x- are not affected. Actually, Apple dropped support of MacPro 5,1 which has same CPU architecture as mine in macOS Catalina. I searched for "EXC_BAD_INSTRUCTION (SIGILL)". I wonder if my CPU's ancient architecture is to blamed. Anyone have a solution? P.S. Sorry for my poor English.
