greglamy
Hello, Everything was ok for me on beta 8 (but iMovie and FCP). Installed beta 9 and since then got a kernel panic (related to IOAHCIFamily.kext or AppleAHCIPort.kext ?) If I disable sata controler in bios, everything is ok! My system is on an NVME drive but Time Machine on a sata drive... The good news is that with beta9 iMovie & FCP are usable :-) My hardware is : z390 designare, i7 8700k, rx580, two NVME drives and two SSD SATA drives. My Clover directory is attached based on iMacPro1,1 with iGpu disabled in bios (I get the same error with a iMac 19,1 profile and iGpu enabled). If anyone has an idea to fix this this problem? Thanks a lot in advance :-) EFI.zip Edited September 24, 2019 by greglamy Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/340437-kernel-panic-after-upgrade-to-beta9-from-beta8/ Share on other sites

theoriginalmagneto
I have the SAME problem!!! For days. The only way to resolve is to restore from Time Machine (previous version). Today, I wanted to update my Catalina installation (supplementa update). It went through but BAM, KP again, the same thing. So, I had to restore from Time Machine. Therefore, there is no way for me to update my Catalina system. I think this is a problem with the system drivers/kexts getting corrupted. So, what I will try now, is to turn on SIP and will try to update again. Will report back if it helps. theoriginalmagneto
BTW this problem persists. Now, every time I turn off the computer, I get the KP and I always have to boot to Recovery and restore from Time Machine snapshot (the last one). Then the system boots.
