Any advice would be appreciated as i bought this gear just for osx86. I have also tried booting with -x and -v and also i have disabled one core of the cpu to no avail. Please help me **edit** could it be that my motherboard uses a special chip for IDE and is not IDE native??

tehkain
I am having the same issue with the same board. I used ever possible drive config. I ended up installing it in vmware on my IDE drive but it would restart endlessly when trying to boot it natively. My 10.4.8 dvd would error out with "still waiting for root device" but my 10.4.7(and 5) would just restart after "Loading Darwin" and there where no errors before the restart when I inputed -v.
