Hello all. Thanks for the helpful forum. I'm running Mojave on Windows with VMWware. I have to build an iOS app several times a year. The Windows PC is relatively powerful. Dell Optiplex 5060 with a  i7-8700, 16 GB RAM, and Samsung 970 PRO NVMe M.2 1TB SSD.

I'm using:

Windows 10 1903

VMWare Workstation Player 15.0.4  **just upgraded to 15.1 after reading how to do that on this forum

macOS Unlocker V3.0

Mojave 10.14.5

Virtualization is enabled on the PC.

Performance is awesome. No complaints at all for using macOS in general. This is the only thing I am using this Mac for. No other software is installed. My problem is when I connect an iPhone X (latest iOS) to xcode. Sometimes it locks up macOS right away, sometimes it is 2 or 3 minutes into the xcode build process. The VMWare console session becomes completely no responsive. The clock and activity monitor in macOS freeze. I can't shut down the VM. I have to reboot Windows. There is nothing else I have found to be able to get it restarted. I'm using USB 2.0 in VMWare. I have read in multiple guides where I would need to do that. I tried 3.0, and it locked up OS as soon as I connected the iPhone every time I tried. After many hours, and 5 or 6 reboots, I eventually got it to finish, but it was painful. I tried different iPhone cables, and different USB ports on the PC. All drivers are up to date. I can build the app with a simulated iPhone and there are no issues. For this particular case, I have to build it with the physical phone connected. Any ideas for improved stability? Thanks!

**I was poking around and just realized that you can do this wireless. Enable Wireless Builds / Debug in Xcode 9 & iOS 11 I saw that checkbox but kept going right on by. I should try that next time. The lockup doesn't normally happen for a few minutes, and I do think it is USB related.
