***Update!!! Now cleaned and pruned to make sense!!!***

Hello everyone,

I recently decided to try and put mac on my laptop (an ACER Aspire 5672WLMi). I burned the iso to a data disk and verified the burn. I then backed up all my windows data to my desktop and then deleted the windows partition. I put the disk in the drive, and it booted up fine. I formatted my entire drive with a mac journal volume (120 GB). Then I installed mac OSX using the following options under 'customize': Intel patch, SSE3, Wireless card, Radeon x1600/x1900 patches. I also removed foreign language support, and most of the excess printer drivers. After a very speedy install, everything was looking great. The setup rebooted my computer, but didn't spit out my DVD, so I manually pressed the eject button. The Darwin loader appeared for a second and then disappeared, followed by the white apple screen with the little moving circle thing on the bottom. After about ten seconds or so, the screen refreshed and looked like a black & white striped shirt. Uh Oh. SO then I decided to use the -v command at f8 startup options, and it loads all the way up to "Login application window started" and then the screen goes black. I then thought it was an install problem, so I reinstalled using the same DVD, but it had the same result. SO I burned the image to a new DVD, and that didn't help. I seem to be at a loss as to what is going on with my laptop. I heard there was some trick with the VGA port on the laptop, but I am not sure what that would entail. Is this problem fixed with 10.4.8? Any help will be much appreciated, thank you.

Also, my laptop has a total of Four video outputs from the card (three available to use):

1.) VGA

2.) DVI-D

3.) The Internal screen connector

4.) S-Video/component video port (looks like this:)

Again I thank you all for your time.

Sincerely, K98sniper.

P.S. Here are the specs of my laptop for hardware:

ACER Aspire 5672WLMI x1600 ver.

Intel Core duo T2400

1 GB dual-channeling DDR2 533

120GB sata Seagate HDD

Radeon x1600 w/128mb dedicated

Intel wireless A/B/G card internal

Internal Bluetooth card

Logitech Orbicam webcam

Broadcom 10/100/1000 Nic

Pioneer DVD-Ram drive

P.S.S. Here is some extra information (no such thing as too much :D

1.) My laptop IS on the OSx86 wiki HCL list.

2.) I used a DVD+R verbatim the first time, then a FujuFIlm DVD-R for the second go-around

3.) I did not see any anomalies in the -v startup other than no intel PCIC probe was detected, and no airport driver was found.

4.) I verified the data and the permission on the drive many times during the endeavor. I also ran a HDD test for bad sectors, none were found.

5.) My Bios and optical drive firmware are recently updated and checked.

6.) I downloaded the 10.4.7 RePack. Not the original.

Hello,

I'm having the same problem - I've tried about 4 different ISOs, and searching this and many other forum's endlessly - I keep finding guys who post problems without any replies.

Am I missing an obvious link or search here?

Thanks for any help!
