CheetahLoad
Had to Get A Used MSI Radeon R9 270X Graphics Card To Be Able to Upgrade to Mojave Back When It Launched. The OS Runs Beautifully Except For The Problems I Talk About Below... Turns out this card is in the end of its lifespan, sometimes the screen "vibrates", other times I'll see a multi-colored horizontal stripe quickly appear on the screen, and most recently, sometimes the display will show a "TV static"-like artifact. The problems get worse after several hours of use. Happens on macOS, Windows And Linux -- So Not A Software Problem. I'm buying a Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 570 4GB, model number 11266-04-20G. I have read that RX 500 series cards are natively supported by macOS since version 10.13.4... - Will I need to reinstall macOS from scratch when I put the new card in? - Currently the EFI folder has Lilu and WhateverGreen kexts, will I still need these to run the RX 570? Thanks In Advance ============================================================================ My Setup: Nicknamed The "PowerMac G7" - Using MacPro6,1 SMBIOS -- Found the OS runs better using this one... - Core i5-7400; - MSI Radeon R9 270X 2GB Graphics Card (Dying, soon to be replaced.) - MSI B250M PRO-VH Motherboard; - 16GB DDR4 2400MHz RAM; - 240GB Corsair Force LE SSD (Macintosh HD, APFS); - 3TB Seagate BarraCuda ST3000DM008-2M166 HDD (Arquivos, HFS+); - 850W 80+ Gold Corsair CS850M PSU; - Corsair K380 Mid-Tower ATX Case.
