osx151212
Hello, I've attempted to update Mojave 10.14.3 to 10.14.5 which did not work (does not finish installation). Computer MB: P7H55-M LX CPU: i3 540 RAM: 4GB VIDEO: NVIDIA GTX 760 HDD: WD 500GB NIC: RTL8111 AUDIO: onboard CLOVER: v2.4k r4920 The computer boots perfectly into previously installed 10.14.3 and works very stable. The OSX have informed that new update 10.14.5 is available, the update was downloaded and computer been rebooted. In Clover (most recent version) I selected to install new OSX update (10.14.5) with options "-f -x -v" which provided me with following information on the screen (see attached images). Installation of update freezes at this point with following image of circle crossed by line. Can somebody's sharp eye to spot the source of the problem? Thank you in advance osx151212 Can somebody's sharp eye to spot where the problem is? jamiethemorris
Do you have a USB enclosure you can use to boot the drive externally? I had the same problem with my X99 in both later versions of High Sierra and all versions of Mojave (drives with this issue would also say "i/o error" when a usb installer was trying to locate them), and had to use this patch to get it to boot: AppleAHCI Port Find: 40600200 Replace: 00000000 Comment: fix IO error 10.14 by vit9696 Since your install has been working up to this point, I assume it's not that exact issue, but it might be a similar if something new needs to be patched in the AHCIPort kext. You could also try loading the previous version of the kext just to see if it boots. osx151212
Hi janiethemorris, well I have used my USB to SATA adapter, the update went through just fine and the system can boot through USB adapter. But when I try to boot from same HDD connected to SATA port the boot process ends with line across the circle on black background. I have a few patches already applied and it did work for 10.14.3 just a few hours ago before I went with update on USB adapter. Hmm, I will try to apply the patch you refer to and see what will be the outcome. osx151212 Edited May 24, 2019 by osx151212 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/338769-p7h55-m-lx-update-from-10143-to-10145-does-not-finish/#findComment-2674940 Share on other sites
osx151212
Hi janiethemorris, thank you the patch you referred me to does fixed the problem -- now the computer boots just fine. It is a time to update my signature (10.14.5). osx151212 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/338769-p7h55-m-lx-update-from-10143-to-10145-does-not-finish/#findComment-2674945 Share on other sites
