dmtza Posted November 21, 2006 Share Posted November 21, 2006 Hi, I installed 10.4.8 JAS DVD. The install goes smoothly but for whatever reason, I need the DVD to boot into the OS. I've set the partition active and it still requires the disc. Booting without the disc results in a dashed prompt on the top left and it just sits there. Any help would be much appreciated. banz Posted November 22, 2006 Share Posted November 22, 2006 i've had same problem. and i just went and set the fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0 and set the 1st partition with af active. then boot up fine. also i made sure that when i partition my drive it was for mbr. as there are 3 choices. dmtza Posted November 22, 2006 Author Share Posted November 22, 2006 I have already marked the partition active. When I installed 10.4.6 DVD, I had to mark the AF partition active. But this is the 10.4.8JAS DVD and even though it states the Partition as being active, it still does not boot unless I use the DVD. Please help!
