I started hackintoshing my system around the time Mavericks came out.  I’ve since installed macOS on every system I’ve used with my most recent acquisition giving me some trouble which is both fun and frustrating.

I’ve done everything in the installation including patching my own DSDT and SSDT files.  But I’ve only ever done that after finding a list that someone else has compiled for what patches to preform and when.  I dutifully follow along because it’s better to use your own files rather than prepatched ones.  This, then, has always been a grey area for me.  I know part of the process but am completely in the dark about the starting bits.  This leave me with the question I have for this thread:

Is there anyone out there that can help me understand how one knows exactly which patches to use?  I think that would be a great thing to know about if I ever get a system that doesn’t have the list already made.  Plus, it changes based on BIOS/UEFI and possibly even macOS versions, right?  How is a one to know?

I don’t think I am the one lacking intelligence between the two of us as you seem to have completely missed the substantive aspects of my query, and then went on to require the reinterartion of previously plainly disclosed information.  You then end by stating the exact opposite of a proper answer to the question.  I apologize if you’re actually slow mentally but I found your response entirely unhelpful.  I ask that you, in future, please refrain from answering if you have nothing substantive to add.  And clearly, you haven’t.

But to answer you directly:

yes.  I started hackintoshing PCs with Mavericks.

Finally, as you missed my point entirely, I’m not asking how to find the list of patches for a given machine online, I’m asking how a person, working with equipment that has never had macOS installed, figures out what DSDT and SSDT patches to use to make a system more functional or stable.  I do not know how to further simplify my query for your seemingly limited understanding.
