Has Anyone Had Success with DIMM > 16GB?

My experience with 64GB LRDIMMs is that OS X somehow autodetects their size and fixes the SMBIOS tables somehow, but then wired memory shows nearly 16TB, which is clearly wrong and which seems to be the source of major stability issues.

It appears that SMBIOS reports version 2.4, which does not supported the extendedSize property. This seems to mean that it is impossible to have a single DIMM larger than 16GB.

Exploring AppleSMBIOS source confirms no support for extendedSize.

My new MBP reports SMBIOS 3.0 instead of 2.4. Is it possible for us to upgrade the hack's smbios? I'm unclear how that part works (in firmware I'm guessing?), but it is clear that the kext is not all there is to it.
