s201054
Alright I'm a poor college kid and I want a Mac. or at least OS X. I'm completely new at Mac but I love the smoothness of OS X. I have experience in Linux and XP. I would like to install OS X on my desktop computer and I have and OS X Tiger 10.4.6 install DVD. I can get almost any version I just don't know how to do it. Every time i try the install I get a message that I have to restart my computer and a "panic cpu 0 caller". Im assuming that my cpu is not up to par for Mac? I dont know but anyone that could help me I would greatly appreciate it. Rammjet
Have No Clue What I'm Doin!!! 1. This is posted in the Tutorials section and yet it isn't a tutorial. 2. OSX only works on a processor capable of SSE2 or SSE3. The Xp 2400+ is only capable of SSE. Rammjet
As already said, OSX only runs on a processor capable of SSE2 or SSE3. So, the question du jour: Is your processor capable of SSE2 or SSE3? http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/8746/cpuzkf9.jpg Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/33460-mac-os-x-install-help/#findComment-236585 Share on other sites
