blind_oracle
Jas 10.4.8 DVD (reseed) + latest semthex kernel. QE/CI works (thanks for jas' patch), opengl video output in VLC works very well too. But Quartz not. DVD Player show black screen with sound. VLC using Quartz renderer just crashes. Quicktime i think shows black screen too. I saw a thread here where some1 had the same problem. His solution was to just reinstall OS with exactly same parameters... Well, i dont' believe in miracles And i dont want to reinstall. Maybe someone was able to repair it? Thanks in advance Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/33454-no-quartz-video-on-gma950/ Share on other sites
katmail
Try this Link http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=230908 First here is how I solved my GMA 950 problem as simple as I can make it...1. Delete any files that say AppleIntel915 or AppleIntelGMA950 from /System/Library/Extensions 2. Delete extensions.kextcache and extensions.mkext from /System/Library 3. On the JaS DVD locate the GMA900 or GMA950 install package It is in /System/Installation/Packages 4. Install the package you need, GMA900 for a 900/915 chipset or GMA950 for the GMA 950 obviosuly. 5. Once the package has finished installed go to Disk Utility 6. Repair your permissions 7. Reboot That worked perfectly for me. Now like to add one problem to the list, sure it is kernel related....even though I do have my FSB set correctly my system clock seems to add about ten minutes a day. blind_oracle
Well i've tried doing the same. Installed GMA950 package, it didn't worked. Then installed GMA900 (just in case) it was even worse (well it is expected ) Maybe i've done something wrong, gotta try again. Problem was i think that this JaS package didn't installed AppleIntel915 kext. So after deleting it and reinstalling package it just dont appear in the extensions folder. Well i'll try again Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/33454-no-quartz-video-on-gma950/#findComment-236469 Share on other sites
blind_oracle
I've tried, it didnt work. The problem is that i have NO *950* kexts - is it normal? ? JaS's GMA950 package consits only of AppleIntegratedFramebuffer.kext... So when i delete *915* kexts & bundles, i can boot, but i loose QE/CI. Huh.. i dont know what to do next Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/33454-no-quartz-video-on-gma950/#findComment-236480 Share on other sites
