THE_Roen
Intel 8700K, SuperMicro C7Z370-ITX, MSI 1070 Ti Using native HDA injection, ALC1220. Tried injecting 11, 1, 2, 5 and 7. 2 was able to play audio correctly once, but upon the next restart, the sound would be distorted again. 11, 1, 5 and 7 are all distorted. Speakers sound very tinny and distorted. Mic also only picks up loud static, doesn't pick up voices or anything else. Sound preferences show max mic register, even when no sounds are being made. Latest AppleALC and Lilu are in the clover/other folder. Tried both 13.4 and 13.3 AppleHDA.kext, no difference. No issues pre-Security Update. Does anyone have any ideas? 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/333995-helpdistorted-audio-after-high-sierra-security-update-2018-001/ Share on other sites

THE_Roen
Sure. When lowering volume in macOS to 50%, the sound normalizes. Mic is still registering max sounds when no sound is made. THE_Roen
What changes were made exactly? I see some kext patches changes, no more injecting DeviceID or Reset HDA and some more kexts in the other directory. Am I missing anything? Thank you for the help in getting the speakers to work normally. Mic still does not, registers sound when no sound is made, even when mic is unplugged. THE_Roen
After restarting into Windows and then booting back into macOS without inserting this aml file, the sound became distorted and tinny again. No Inject ID. THE_Roen
2 and 11 are both distorted as well. Very similar to what I was doing before using the new clover directory that you provided. EDIT: 5 as well. I'm fairly certain 7 and 13 will, but I'll have to test them later.
