desidivo
It installed JAS 10.4.7 for AMD and SSE2 on Compaq Presario R3000 LAPTOP. I have included the my hardware info below. The install went well and completed. When it rebooted the I was stuck at a spinning wheel. After reading lots of info, i was able to F8 and -v to see that it was stuck at "Still waiting for root device". I have a laptop with only one harddrive. It is the master on channel 1 while DVD Drive is master on channel 2. I have been reading but most of instruction are about putting drive as master on channel 1 or about SATA. Since this is already master on channel1. Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated. > Mainboard : Compal 08A0 > Chipset : nVidia nForce3 150 > Processor : AMD Athlon 64 3000+ @ 1800 MHz > Physical Memory : 1280 MB > Video Card : Nvidia Corp GeForce4 440 Go 64M [NV17M] > Hard Disk : HTS424040M9AT00 (40 GB) > DVD-Rom Drive : HL-DT-ST DVD-ROM GDR8082N > Monitor Type : Color LCD - 15 inchs > Network Card : Realtek Semiconductor RT8139 (A/B/C/810x/813x/C+) Fast Ethernet Adapter SMART : Version 1.1 IDE Controller : Nvidia Corp nForce MCP3 Parallel ATA Controller Informations Hard Disk HTS424040M9AT00 IDE Controller : nForce MCP3 Parallel ATA Controller IDE Channel : #1 - Master Drive Model : HTS424040M9AT00 Serial Number : MPA242Q2DB1SBB Revision : MA2OA72A Interface : ATA Support : ATA/ATAPI-6 Size : 40 GB Cache : 1 739 KB ECC Size : 4 Multiple Sector : 16 IORDY : Yes LBA Mode : Yes DMA Mode : Yes Multiword DMA Mode : 2 PIO Mode : PIO 4 UDMA Mode max. : 5 (ATA-100) UDMA Mode Enabled : 5 (ATA-100) SMART : Yes - Enabled Power Management : Yes Acoustic Management : Yes Security Mode : Yes Write Cache : Yes 48-bit Address : No Cylinders : 16383 Heads : 16 Sectors per Track : 63 SMART Information Disk HTS424040M9AT00 Health : 97% (estimated) Performance : 98% (estimated) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/33299-still-waiting-for-root-device-1047-jas-almost-a-convert-to-mac/ Share on other sites
