Rammjet
Try installing again. Use the Semthex kernel. And don't install the ULi SATA unless you absolutely need it. After you get up and running, go get the latest Semthex kernel. Go to IRC channel #kernel and ask (or read the topic) to get the link. To go to IRC if you don't have a client - click on the Chat link at the top of this forum. Click on the "forum" link. When IRC loads, click on "Channels" and choose "#kernel". dreams3577
-=GERMES=- or anyone i have installed macdrive and cannot see Extensions.mkext or Extensions.kextcache. However if i load via the installer DVD and use the terminal i can see Extensions.mkext in the /system/library folder but no Extensions.kextcache, however it will not let me delete it via the terminal as it tells me that it is a read-only file system. Anyway.. Where do i find the files? and how did you see them in macdrive? is there an option i need to set? Rammjet
I tryed it with mifki and Semthex, but it didnt bring luck Try booting with -f (after pressing F8). If that works, add it to your boot.plist under Kernel Flags Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/33267-boot-problem-1048-jas-re-seed/#findComment-235163 Share on other sites

dreams3577
Hi again -=GERMES=- Thank you for your guide, however the system still hangs on waiting for root device under the -f option, and i cannot see the Extensions.mkext file via macdrive even after doing the repair permissions. Which version of macdrive are you using? MtheG
Hi, I have the same problem as Steve has (he gave me the tip to look at this thread). I did what you said but there is no Extensions.mkext Macdrive works fine. I tried using a terminal but I get a permision denied. I wonder how many people have the same problem.
