I have Jas 10.4.8 that I upgraded from 10.4.7 with the older Darwin kernel. I am running Intel and currently everything is working (except sound, but I got an external usb soundcard), so so far things are good.

I want to update the kernel to nebukadnezar, but I can't use the installer (older Darwin kernel). Which kext and extensions need to be changed during this process (smbios one?) and do I delete the 2 extension cache files? Any other ones?

Thanks. I'm learning. I'm searching, but I'm still not clear on the process, so thanks for the clarification...

Thank you for your reply! I ended up installing Jas 10.4.8 to avoid the problems, then used the installer to update the kernel! The speed difference is amazing. I'm having another problem now, but it has nothing to do with your kernel... i'll use irc, like you recommended. Thanks for all the hard work! You and Jas are definitely getting some money from me. It may not be much, but I'll do what I can.
