Stormscape
I got this DVD from a friend cause he couldn't get it to install either. When I try to install, it can't find my Hard Drives. The board is a Gigabyte K8VNXP and the hard drives are on IDE channels 3 and 4, with opticals on 1 and 2. It couldn't find my SATA hard drives either. EDIT: Typo, is supposed to be 10.4.
Rammjet
During installation, when you get to the point of choosing your partition, you need to go to the Utilities menu and start Disk Utility. Select your partition and Erase (format) it as MacOS Extended Journaled. If Disk Utility can't see your partition, try placing the DVD drive and the hard drive on the same cable with the hard drive as master and the DVD drive as slave using jumpers, not cable select. After installation, you can rearrange the drives.
Stormscape
no, it can't find my hard drives period. At all. Doesn't even see those 2 ATA buses. Also note: A channel is different from a device. A channel is for example Primary. That's channel 1 (or 0, depending on who you ask). I have 4 ATAPI (optical) devices, and 5 magnetic disks (2 SATA, 3 PATA).
