BaselineAce
Somehow I managed to corrupt my partition table. One volume is shown as taking up the entire drive, however there is another partition on the drive that is not being recognized by the installation disk. Knoppix seems to be reporting some sort of I/O error? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/32985-corrupt-partition-table/ Share on other sites
rhinosx
Can you provide any more information? What install DVD are you using & which version of OSX? Did you use the Disk Utility within OSX? I know the Disk Utility is borked on the the first JaS 10.4.8 release (NOT the reseed). I know cause the same thing happened to me. Regardless on why/how it happened there are ways to restore your MBR/HDD, etc. using third party utilities. BaselineAce
I was using JaS' 10.4.7 installation disc. It was my fault because I was screwing around with fdisk... BaselineAce
Can anyone suggest some of these such third-party utilities? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/32985-corrupt-partition-table/#findComment-234271 Share on other sites
morwyn
Partition Table Doctor can rebuild partition tables. It did the trick for me once. It's on Hiren's Boot Disk... ;-) Not sure if it can recreate HFS+ partitions, though. It's worth a try.
