dixonba
All, I'm trying to figure out how to get my truemobile 1150 minipci wireless to work. I've searched high and low and found conflicting views. Hi, first of all: Excellent work ! Is there anything more on Darwin CD one could port to OSX86 ? wink_anim.gif However, some stats: Dell Inspiron 8200 with Truemobile 1150 MiniPCI card (Broadcom BCM94306MP) and a Truemobile 1450 (Broadcom BCM94309MP) in exchange, connected to a Sinus 154 DSL Basic SE WLAN Router What works: no encryption, 128-bit WEP No success so far with personal WPA, which I use to run flawlessly on my Powerbook Same results with both cards, both are shown as "Third Party" in Profiler. This was posted by a member "sack" and I've sent him a pm. This post was from the 'darwin workaround' post and was meant for 10.4.1. I've also found posts that say it wont work because the 1150 is based on the orinoco/hermes chipset and not the broadcom like the airport. Why could sack have this working if that's the case? Another interesting this is that the driver at ioexperts doesn't work for me: http://www.ioexperts.com/devices/devices_80211b.html It even states that it should work. I didn't pay (just downloaded the trial)...twenty bucks for a wireless driver?? pff... I'm using the Jas 10.4.7 install on a dell latitude c840. I selected the wireless patch and still nothing. Everything works great except the wireless. I'm serious, I could abandon windoze if I could get this wireless working. Any ideas?
Rammjet
Do a Google search on "dell truemobile 1150 chipset" Orinoco/Hermes
dixonba
I know it has the orinoco/hermes chipset. I'm just wondering why people could get this card to work in previous versions using the airport driver from the darwin cd. I'm still waiting on a reply to the pm I sent to "sack".
