Maggot92289 Posted November 10, 2006 Share Posted November 10, 2006 Ok, I followed all the instructions in the installation file, and when I insert my EDID like he said in between the data tags(<data></data>,and finishing all the sudo commands I restart and I get an error about my Mac needing to be restarted, and yet if I remove these kext's, It launches with this lame 1024x768 res. If any of you can help and clarify my problem I would be very grateful. If it's any help I have a Dell 24inch Monitor(2405FPW). blackice1983 Posted November 11, 2006 Share Posted November 11, 2006 Yeah, from what I can tell you have to edit it with something like PList Editor because the EID you enter needs to be saved into the file as an actual hex string. If you just type it in manually via vi, pico,nano, what have you, then what you end up with is the string representation of the HEX, rather than the actual hex (non human readable) string.
