Nameless4ever
I have a powerfull pc laptop with 2GBs of ram but the older 533 instead of 667. I was thinking of swapping ram, HD, and maybe CPU between the two. So....is it doable? *crossing fingers* Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/32632-question-will-the-mac-mini-work-with-533mhz-memory/ Share on other sites
Stadsport
If you're talking about swapping RAM and CPU you should probably give a little more info as to what's in both machines. Nameless4ever
sure thing the first is ofcourse the current mac mini. The seconde is a dell e1405 with dual core 2Ghz processor, a 100GB 7200RPM HD, and 2gb (2x 1GB) ram modules. anything else? EDIT: how hard is it too do all this by the way? I'm a fairly advanced user and I've built my own systems for almost 5 years. is all the problem getting the thing open or will I face other obstacles? The Dell is no problem ofcourse just the mini Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/32632-question-will-the-mac-mini-work-with-533mhz-memory/#findComment-229547 Share on other sites
Nameless4ever
UPDATE!!! Just tested this on a macbook and it worked fine but for some reason itdetected it as 667. Anyways, any pointers or common mistakes from someone who did this?
