Rch
Yes I seem to be having the opposite problem to most people here, in that Installer exits when it gets to the stage where I would select which HD to install the software onto. Pacifist seems to be able to solve this problem for most things so that is ok. But what is the trouble? I see the same screen like I saw in the OSX installation (from DVD) where there are my NTFS hard drives that show a red cross on them, and the mac hard drive which usually has the green symbol. However this HD selection screen only shows for a split second before installer quits. It just quits, it doesn't hang like others seem to experience. Any suggestions? I can't find anything about this scenario... Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/32606-installer-exits/ Share on other sites
sadiekiller
i guess my problem with Startup disk might be related. the startup disk utility shows me options for a millisecond and then closes. I would imagine it is something wrong with how you hard drive is set up. I havn't tried this yet, but maybe if you unmount all the other hard drives? Rch
That was a great idea but unfortunately it didn't work, still the same problem with only the mac HD mounted. Bear in mind that I had no problems with this selection during OSX installation (don't know if I made that clear). The problem is only with Installer (Utilities) once macos is running. bubbageek75
What type of processor do you have? I had the same issue on my hyperthreading P4 after a clean install. Disabled HT in BIOS, ran clean install, rebooted, re-enabled HT. No problems since. Rch
I have an AMD X2.. I'm running in mac on one core to stop the stuttering issue. I won't try a clean install, I don't think its necessary, plus it took me bloody ages to get this one running properly!
