Yup...

It worked with direct DSDT patches layout 3, i think i forgot to apply no irq patch on dsdt.

the hdaenabler with hdalayoutid on org.chameleon.boot.plist, latest enoch boot loader v2900 cannot change the dsdt on fly.  maybe because i had mbr version.

Found a fix for i9-7980XE on ROG Rampage VI Apex... Use Voodoo method NOT CloverALC

To properly install the Voodoo Audio distribution perform the following steps:

1.) Open the config.plist in the /EFI/CLOVER/ directory of your System Disk with the Clover Configurator and verify that in the
"ACPI" Section off the latter you have under "DSDT" and "Patches" the following entry:

Code (Text):
Comment                         Find*[HEX]      Replace*[HEX]
Rename CAVS to HDEF      43415653        48444546

2.) Download, unzip the VoodooHDA.kext attached at the end of this originating post/guide to your Desktop.

3.) Copy the "VoodooHDA.kext" to the /EFI/Clover/kexts/Other/ - directory of your EFI Disk.

4.) Download, unzip and copy the VoodooHDA.prefPane attached below to ~/Library/PreferencePanes/

5.) Reboot

Hi,

Using the audio_cloverALC-130_v0.6.command I get Ok to patch, however I cannot figure out whether the patch is working as I get no HDMI audio. VoodooHDA recognises both HDMI (with no sound) and headphone jack. I would like to try your patch to see if I can get HDMI (with sound) using native AppleHDA.kext and disabling VoodooHDA instead.

audio_cloverALC-130_v0.6.command :

Quote

EFI partition is mounted
System Integrity Protection status: enabled (Custom Configuration).

Configuration:
    Apple Internal: disabled
    Kext Signing: disabled
    Filesystem Protections: disabled
    Debugging Restrictions: enabled
    DTrace Restrictions: enabled
    NVRAM Protections: enabled
    BaseSystem Verification: enabled

This is an unsupported configuration, likely to break in the future and leave your machine in an unknown state.

OK to patch

Thank you in advance for you help!
