V3RT1G0
well after posting my pc specs and info in this thread: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=32107 most people said my image (distro) and specs would work fine with installing OSX... but after goign ahead with a tutorial on the site: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=11339 it didnt go so good for me ok so i went by the tut first off installing acronis director suite along with the OS selector which went great... i then made my FAT32 primary partition through Norton Partition Magic and then wen along with the process to make a partition with 10 gigs for the x86 installation. i then restarted and apllied all changes to my PC hard drive (one restart per operation, doing it correctly!) After re sizing my primary partition (windows) and partitioning the rest of the space (10 gb) i had a new partition named MacOSX which was FAT32 primary as i said before leaving this pattern of partitions on the hard drive after: Windows (Primary) | MacOSX (primary) ... and then OS selector installed... so i restarted my computer once again and inserted my DVD (MACOSX_10.4.6_Myz) and i went along and used the disk utility to "erase" my partition (MacOSX) to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and that went smoothly... so i i then selected all the things to be installed (Customize) as follows: Essential system software Printer drivers Additional fonts Language translations - OSX86 Hacks Group -- SSE3 Patch -- 10.4.5 Update -- 10.4.6 Update (Updates came with the DVD i guess? so not really 10.4.6 but rather 10.4.4 with updates?) and it then checked the disk to see if everything was there and it checked so it went along installing Base 1 which went fine but when it reached to the installation script it then gave me this message: "Installation Failed, Please install again" something similiar to that and thats where im at... yes i chos SSE3 patch as it was the only patch which is needed as said int he tut... so what would help me now? a new distro/updated dvd with new OSX or any other things that would help me install this!? thanks in advance
Rammjet
"Installation Failed, Please install again" means it had trouble reading data from the DVD. Reburn the DVD at the slowest speed possible. If available, use a different brand of media and a different type of media (dvd-r, dvd+r, dvd-rw, dvd+rw). Also, check to see that your DVD drive has the latest firmware. Then repeat the installation by erasing your partition and selecting your packages.
