skunkhuffer
Okay, so I used the JaS 10.4.6 DVD then did the AMD 10.4.8 SSE2 Combo Update. I've managed to install Callisto 003 fine and dandy (with proper EDID and Device IDs), all my resolutions show up in the list of displays, but upon clicking another resolution besides 1024x768, my screen goes blue, with no cursor, and my computer shows no activity. I tried many sets of instructions so far and nothing seems to work. I am about to reset now and see if I can use the boot options to change resolutions, but even if it does work, I still cannot change resolutions on the fly. What gives??? I have an ATI X800 XL with a 1.5 year old 19" Viewsonic CRT. It would be fantastic if someone could help. I've perused the forums endlessly, and I've only seen this problem described once to some degree, but the "fix" didnt fix anything. Any ideas would be appreciated. skunkhuffer
Okay, so using the "Graphics Mode" boot option only causes a garbled image to appear. Should I possibly try another build of Callisto? I guess it wouldnt hurt anything at this point. I'll give it a shot.
skunkhuffer
Okay, so my 10.4.6/8 and my ATI X800 XL apparently didnt like Callisto 003 or 008. Callisto 003 showed me resolutions, but wouldn't actually switch, and would freeze on a blue screen. Callisto 008 wouldn't permit the GUI to start, and would freeze in the terminal. Callisto 006 fixed it all, so for those of you with video troubles and an ATI X800XL, use Callisto 006. Ta ta!
