naquaada
So, my long problem is solved: The Radeon HD6870 graphics accelerator works in Sierra! Weird is that I didn't change much, the configuartion is nearly the same as in Yosemite and El Capitan. Vally Benchmark brings an average 39 fps in 1600x1200 in 'High Quality' mode, it's about the same in Mavericks. I've also checked, Sierra doesn't use the Apple Software Renderer als fallback, like Yosemite and El Capitan did. Valley had with this in lower settings less than 14 fps. So that's great, 3D and OpenGL is solved. However, the Xbench 2D values are extremely different, especcially in the GUI values. Mavericks has more than 400 points, Sierra about 17. Snow Leopard has more than 700, on the same machine! But Xbench is really old, maybe it's neccessary to access GUi elements in a different way today. So, is there a test program out there that is able to check 2D graphic functions and the speed of the GUI? It's really noticeable that older versions are more responsible, Snow Leopard is fast as hell. Is 2D acceleration a part of the graphics card or is it software-based? If so, then Apple has no interest in keeping this up-to-date. A 2D and GUI speed comparison on different machines and graphic cards would be interesting, including real Macs. These functions are more interesting than 3D because you'll need them everytime you work with the OS. Greets, naquaada.
