naquaada
Hello, maybe somebody has noticed that if you have a Core i7 or similar, the graphics drivers will be loaded even if the integrated graphics is disabled in BIOS. It's neccessary to remove the IntelHD* kexts that it is not activated. Is there a way to deactivate hardware, that it doesn't appear in the System Profiler and in other hardware detection tools? I'm actually on a project where this would be useful. But it must be not a system-wide setting, like a configuration entry, ist must be only affect the actual booted system. A cool feature would something like the 'KextExclusion.kext', in a form of 'HardwareExclusion.kext'. This file contains the vendor and device ID's, maybe an info text which hardware it is. So, f.e. you have two graphics cards installed and one is incompatible to an older version, it can be completely disabled. Greets, naquaada. joe75
On my board, the GA-Z97MX Gaming 5, the intel graphics are disabled in bios and nothing is loaded in OS. You can use a null kext to accomplish what you want.
