J Lamp
I had started a post about video corruption, particularly in Safari on Sierra. I was starting to think it was just my particular rig (X79-UD5 and a GTX-670, MacPro 6,1) until I came across this, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkvMo1amk6E I've also had these sorts of video problems in Safari. The video from youtube was on a real Mac; the problem was fixed (apparently) with a SMC reset. As we're all using FakeSMC what would be the solution? Is this an issue with FakeSMC and Sierra? Anyone else experienced something similar? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/317643-smc-problems/ Share on other sites
Slice
You said nothing about your hardware. I may propose you to check dependencies between your graphics drivers and AppleSMC by a command sudo kextstat Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/317643-smc-problems/#findComment-2314462 Share on other sites
J Lamp
Actually I did state my hardware "(X79-UD5 and a GTX-670, MacPro 6,1)" either way thank you for replying. I started having small graphics glitches back in 10.10 (10.9 was perfect.) 10.11 was the same as 10.10, 10.12 has been worse. The card is recognized by the OS. I have full acceleration, no issues there. I can load either the native Sierra driver or the web driver, both exhibit the same problem (actually the native driver had less problems in El Capitan, but not for Sierra.) As far as dependancies between Apple SMC and the graphics from kextstat I'm not sure what I'm looking for. I can however see the kexts are loaded. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/317643-smc-problems/#findComment-2314974 Share on other sites
