Doesnt mac os x have a sound it makes when it logs on and off? What about when going through menus and when your minimizing and maximizing windows? Is there somewhere i can add sounds to make it do it. I remeber when I was using flyakite os x for windows it was a conversion mod that had sounds for mac os x. I looked over the preferences and I dont see how can I make those sounds come on. I used mac os 9 and it makes sounds when browsing menus and clicking stuff. On here everything is very quiet making it boring. Is there a sound set or program I can download to make sounds when doing certain stuff.

No go, folks.. One of the initial things I have done on my fresh installed (native, mobo Intel915GUX - all onboard stuff works fine) x86 10.4.1 was exactly Unsanity's "Xounds"! Well, it installs OK, but you can not start it's Preference pane... :)(

P.S. Actually this is one of the sad things about x86 (nowadays at least) - lack of ability of use PPC system tools if their operation is tied to (or somehow else depends on) their PreferencePane.

Just start System Preferences in Rosetta mode. All extension work fine for me then.

I did not try this "Xounds" extension. But with others it works for me. I read about this trick somewhere in this form, btw. :(

Unfortunatelly it did not work..

I tried 2 Unsanity haxies: "Xounds" and "Window Shade" - they now respond if I click on them in System Preferences, they allow changing all their settings, they ask for registration - all way the same as on my office G5 but exept for they do not actually work.

No error messages or smth, not a thing of that kind at all.. Just merely and silently no go.

OK then, at least that means I shall not eat such unpleasant stuff like hats! :)

I downloaded and installed it but when i download a sound set i cant seem to open it. Is there any other programs?

Get the attached file down here - it contains all the sounds from Mac OS 9.2.2 in one file. You only have to unzip it and then convert from within Xounds haxie (there is a button for that).

Should you get any success in making this haxie work in your x86 drop a line here for us to know..

Good luck!
