Bohr
Hello boys and gilrs I have follow this forum for an while and did a osx install on my asus barebone P4 2,6 mhz. I installed the 10.4.5 Jas DVD and was amazed about the results. 100% working out of the box. I decide it was time to upgrade my PC and bought the following setup: Case : Coolermaster CMS stacker CPU : core 2 duo E63000 Motherboard : MSI 975 intel platinum powerup edition Memory : 2 x 512 dual channel corsair 533 mhz Video : sapphire x1600 ati pci-ex HDD : 3 x 40 gig sata wester digital + 1 x Ide 250 gig Burner : nec 3520 DL / modified firmware = 16 x speed of burning On the motherboard it has four HDD controllers 2 x IDE controllers which support pio and buss mastering operation modes 4 x sata II connectors controlled by ICH7R 1 x sata II connector controlled by Jmicron JMB 361: sata 5 On installation I tried several options. On IDE 1 I have IDE NEC burner in Mastermode and 250 gig hdd in slave mode On sata connector 1-3 I have 2 hdd in raid mode and one in normal mode. I have installed XP on the raid drives. The IDE 250 gig drive i divided in 2 partitions. 1 for OSX and one for NTFS DATA I noticed when I hang the NEC buner on IDE 2 controller I got the message: Cannot find boot-plist.. Haning the burner back on IDe controller 1 I could boot the osx JAS 1.4.7 DVD. I partition with diskutillity a journaled partition and install the osx suystem. In my bios i set the primary boot to raid = XP installation and the OSX install to secondary boot. When starting my PC I could press F11 for boot menu. I can choose to boot from XP install or OSX install. Most things works well out of the box except the realtek HD audio. I modified it due the guide her on this forum and I have sound .... Everything works very fast. My PC is much faster then my neighbour Original Apple G5 dualcore... hehe So many thanks tho the guys like JAs, Maxus, Kiki and all the people I forgot which contributes a lot to this community.. For +- 800 euro's I have a beast of a machnine on two platforms. My motherboard is also quadcore ready and could carry the CPU same as in the new Intel MacS Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/31580-another-msi-975-intel-chipset-succes-story/ Share on other sites
