gio on the mic
I own a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pa 1510, with AMD turion x2 tl-50. My dvd is attached to an ati (PATA i guess) controller with id 4376 (working) while my hdd is on an ati SATA 4379 controller (NOT WORKING/RECOGNIZED). I saw on the web that ati 4379 controller has the same chipset as Silicon Image 3112 so i was wandering if anyone with SI 3112 got it working... Also, since the controller is supported under linux, do you think there could be a way for someone to port the existing linux driver to darwin/os x? Rammjet
http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=24254 You may have to add your vendor id/device id (1002/4379) to the Info.plist
gio on the mic
thanks rammjet, i'l give it a try and let you know if it works... EDIT: can't test if it works, i'm getting this error at boot switching from vmware to native: panic(cpu 0 caller 0x0019C352): Unresolved kernel trap (CPU 0, Type 0=divide error) plus a dump of the registers and debugger backtrace. How can i solve this? (i'm getting pretty frustrated seeing all this people getting osx working with no problem, b.t.w, but I WON'T give up! )
gio on the mic
LAST news: 1) solved the kernel panic (had to turn OFF SSE3 patch that's not working fine on AMD). 2) Got the SATA hd on controller 1002:4379 recognized using modified AppleVIAATA.kext: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=25651 OH MY GOD, AT LAST IT WORKS NATIVE! but then: 3) rebooted > waiting for root device
motroxx
Hi, Did you find a solution? I have a Pa1510, too ;-) Thanks
gio on the mic
the only way i can get it working is zapping off the extensions cache every time before turning off os x. (from terminal: sudo su rm -f /System/Library/Extensions.mkext rm -f /System/Library/Extensions.kextcache ) of course this is only a temporary solution. i'll let you know if i solve this problem (any idea is welcome)
motroxx
it is beautiful to hear that is there a solution! thank you! Can you to me please exactly say what you did? As in a Wiki; -) Which OSX CD? Jas? 10.4.? Which Patch? How did you proceed? I am really grateful for your answer! I must have OSX..; -) Perhaps you can try your files to be only readable ...? Or create a batch-file
