readthebook
Build components are in my signature. Running 10.11.6 as a fresh install, my SSD speeds are ridiculously low. 30-45 MB/sec max. I have tried the main Samsung 840 (not pro or evo, just basic) 250 GB SSD which is the boot drive and a Transcend 512 GB SSD. Both drives get the same speeds in real world use (copy files in finder, converting FLAC > ALAC/MP3, etc.) BlackMagic Disk Speed Test shows that the speeds are fine on the 512 gb (can't test the Samsung because its the boot drive) but again in real world use, they are far from fine. Motherboard has the latest firmware. The 840 drive doesn't have the latest, but I can't load it because I have no CD drive and creating a USB from Samsung's ISO gave me a USB drive that didn't show up in Clover as bootable. I also don't know that a FW update would address this issue since, as I said, I have the same issue on the other drive from a completely different manufacturer. I have the Intel Generic AHCI SATA kext loaded from that tool on the "other forum" Looking for any ideas. This is my only stumbling block.
