So... im new to this whole hackintosh thing.   I was under the impression thats what the tonymacx86 forums were about.  I was wrong.

I made a post with a question I had about OSX virtualization (from the post they discerned it was on pc hw) and I was banned.

Tried to click contact us to petition the admin for an unban but it just takes me right back to the banned message.   Not worth pursuing if theyre that anal/sad over there.

Anyhow - so for the most part ive figured this stuff out on my own - and really, im stuck either waiting or using my IGPU due to having pascal cards, but im trying to get prepared as far as one can be until those drivers that everyone is after become available.

Before I carry on any further - I'm trying to install clover to my USB drive and during set up I am on the final option before I hit Install.  "Install Clover Preference Pane" and the darn thing is not selectable.  Completely grey'ed out.

Any ideas? o.O

Is the preference pane going to be something i'll regret not installing now regardless?

If any of this is against the rules, please dont ban me!  I loved the quiz's btw :P  Even though a lot of that stuff can be looked up, and other stuff is from a time long before many of the kids using pc's today will know of, it was right in my niche :)

EDIT: I "think" i understand whats happening now.  Since its being installed to a USB disk from a VM, its not selectable.  Does this sound right?  I was under the impression the preference panel was something you finaggled with at the bootloader screen, apparently its something that is installed into osx and accessed from within it to update clover etc?

I may be way off base - if not, it seems after installing osx by using clover/usb you can simply install clover/make the hard disk itself bootable without needing to keep the usb key plugged in?  Is this when I would/could add the preference pane?

Sorry - learning!

Hello there,

First of all, welcome to our community.

It's odd that the pref panel option is not selectable. However, you're not missing any functionality without it, it's mostly informational.

Best regards.
