newmanjam Posted October 27, 2006 Share Posted October 27, 2006 ok, i'm trying to install osx on my second internal hdd on ide using 10.4.7 jas repack, osx finally recognize my second hdd. the problem is when click on erase drive as mac extended journal, it took 2 hours on a 250gb. i had to stop and restart my pc. so i'm getting stuck at "preparing to erase" please, help spec: amd 4600+ am2 socket (940) hp pavillion m7580n, 3gb ram 300gb sata, 250gb second internal hdd Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/31329-formatting-took-2-hours/ Share on other sites More sharing options...
McSkywalker Posted October 27, 2006 Share Posted October 27, 2006 What options did you choose in the disk utility? Secure format options write zero's all over the hard disk. May be that's your case.
