You could boot in single user mode. Then mount the volume as read write (the instrcutions for doing this will be on screen after you boot in the mode).

 

 

Once you're there, just go to /System/Library/Extensions and move the undesired extension to some other place. Don't delete it, you might want to get it back.

 

 

Also check your bios for possible USB options, like legacy support or more subtle things like "Enable USB Keyboard". I had to disable the "enable usb keyboard" in order to get my usb recognized ...
