hello one and all.....happy to be here with my first post/topic so here goes:

well, i have a Dell Dimension 3000 w/Intel p4 3.0Ghz-HT(hyper-threading)--2004 model year

mobo: standard Dell/Intel model (not sure on part number, but it is intel made w/no AGP or PCI-e and using 1.5Gb of PC3200 4ooMhz RAM-184pin)

RAM: 1.5Gb of PC3200 4ooMhz RAM-184pin (1GB chip and 1-512Mb chip)

keyboard & mouse: Logitech G15 keyboard (usb) & Logitech MX-Revolution mouse (wireless 2.4Ghz usb)

monitor: Samsung Syncmaster 914v 19" LCD flat panel (1280x1024 @ 60Hz-native display area) hooked to the ATI card

Video Card(s): ATI RADEON 9250 PCI 256mb (also have a nVidia GeForce 6600-OC PCI @ 256Mb w/SLI and DVI out)

HDD: 40Gb (standard Dell hard drive)--will be replacing this with a new hard drive preferably 250GB SATA @ 7200rpm 3.0GB/s (installing Mac to the new hard drive only and ditching the 40Gb)

sound card: SoundBlaster Live 24-bit w/2.1 channel surround PCI, hooked to Accent Acoustics speakers

Ethernet built-in to the mobo as well as USB ports and such

Internal CD-Rom drive and 16x DVD-rom drive

want to know if there is any way possible to get Mac Os X Tiger working fully with my current setup since i'll be installing a fresh/unused hard drive either by buying it retail or hacking it to work. so, if anyone has done it then let me know and possibly have some steps outlined for me...thanx a bunch!

Gday, i can see a few problems.. the ethernet will most likely not work without a hack, there are only a few ethernet patches publicly availiable at this stage, and yours isn't covered :D. Secondly, the wireless keyboard will not work, you need to get a plain and simple USB (NOT PS2) keyboard. Lastly, Use the latter video card (6600) as i am using a 6600 GT with a patch (which i will post later on) and it works perfectly.

Hope that helps,

keyboard is USB, only the mouse is USB wireless....so, should i go with a PCI Ethernet card then perhaps and ditch the PCI 56k fax/modem card i have now?

also, i know it wasnt answered in your reply, but what would be easier: retail copy of OsX or download/burn since i'm going to be using a new (unused/no OS) harddrive?

thanx for the reply!
