ltooz_audis Posted March 23, 2016 Share Posted March 23, 2016 I need a fast Mac to convert MKV to MP4 for my Wd My Cloud, I loaded the Yosemite 10.10.5 and El Capitan 10.11.3 on my old PC Asus P8Z68-V LX with i5-2500k and Nvidia 8400GS. It's quite fast, I could convert 5GB MKV to 2.2GB MP4 using handbrake with 135fs average (less than 30 minutes). I made a video. - SMK 4.0 bluetooth nano dongle. - 12GB DDR3 1600 RAM. - USB 1.3MP camera. Software needed: - Clover boot loader: 3320 and up (3354 current) : need NFSPlus.efi and NTFS.efi from Rehabman. - Patch MBR both Yosemite and El Capitan (the files are here in Insanelymac). - Rehabman: FakeSMC, GenericUSB3.0, Realtek8111.kext, FakePCIID.kext... - Toleda ALC888 scripts for AppleHDA.kext : work perfectly (need to set audio id = 1 in clover config.plist). - Gigabit ethernet connected at 119MBs with speed test. - SMBIOS MacMini5,2 - USB 3.0 ports work as 2.0 3.0 with genericusb3.kext from Rehabman only with El Capitan. - USB 3.0 ports work as 3.0 with genericusb3.kext from Rehabman with Yosemite. ltooz_audis Posted March 25, 2016 Author Share Posted March 25, 2016 SMK 4.0 USB bluetooth vs Asus USB-BT400, I tested both on Yosemite and El Capitan, SMK 4.0 uses Cambridge chipset and Asus Broadcom. SMK bluetooth paired with all my devices effortlessly while Asus couldn't pair with my HP bluetooth mouse. None of them support handoff, therefore no Airdrop.
