Clover bootloader stuck after selecting the drive - then boots successfully

Hi!

 

I've got a Hackintosh here, but there's definitely a couple of things still wrong with it, but I'll start with the most annoying one in this forum

 

OK. So I've installed El Capitan with a copy obtained from my MacBook (10.11.3 to be exact) and I did it like I always do these kinds of installation:

1.) Format a USB stick to have one partition and be named "USB"

2.) Use El Capitan's installation tool to copy over all the OS files

3.) Install Clover

4.) Put on a FakeSMC and AppleIntelE100e.kext

5.) Boot the stick and UEFI mode and install

6.) Install Clover on the finished installation

 

Now what is the problem you might ask, well:

The OS boots successfully (and very fast indeed), but the steps prior to the actual boot are slow.

 

When I boot into Clover, booting into Clover is actually quite fast (takes around a second), then I select my OS X drive and hit Enter. In verbose mode I can see that the Aptio Fix (the problem also occurs with the fix not being present, so it doesn't seem to be the problem) is loading an a couple of "+" signs in the next line. From then on, it hangs for about 7 minutes (always the same time) to finally boot in around 5 seconds after that.

 

I recon it's something in the boot process or there's something Clover "doesn't like". It seems to me like its waiting for something, then the action times out and it starts to actually load the kernel. It's the same on my install stick as well as on the real drive. The same USB stick doesn't do this on other machines (the "+" sign step takes around 1 or 2 seconds on them). 

 

What I've already tried that didn't help:

• Unplugging peripherals, drives etc.
• Check UEFI settings if something's wrong
• Check if Clover's debug option is set - it isn't.
• Google the issue - no one seems to have it, the only issues I've found related to slow boot are when the debug option is turned on and occurs before the actual menu displays.

The system I'm using is based around the Haswell platform. USB, LAN and SATA controllers are all Intel.

 

If you need any more information or logs etc., just tell me and I'll get them to you.

 

I'd be very thankful if anyone of you has a solution to this or at least an idea where I can start looking.

My friend you should try to use OSXAptiofixDRV2 and check for possible drivers that you don't need and that are being used in Clover.

Also, make sure to manually add Clover boot loader's entry to your bios, by specifying the boot path, in my case \EFI\CLOVER\CLOVERX64.efi

This resolved many of my problems... 

Also the slow loading might be caused by you using VBOX-HFS Driver instead of HFSPlus.efi

That should speed it up quite a bit!
