bgrau
Anyone got any luck getting El Capitan booting on a Chromebook. I am so close, as C720P is a Haswell, and Chameleon has a patch for it. It goes through the boot process up to ID 'ing the hard disk and gets stuck at seeking for root device It's a good USB install as I can get it to work on other PC's I tried to inject this <key>Default Partition</key> <string>hd(x,y)</string> with no luck either. bgrau
Commenting further - I am trying to get it to work from a USB. Windows 8.1 and 10 can do so, so theoretically it should work with this Haswell Chromebook. I singled out that it is an USB issue for El Capitan as the Hard Disk is USB but also that it chokes on Still waiting for root device instead of: USBMC identifier (non unique), etc. Any ideas to move on from this? I have the DSDT for the CB, if it can help? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/310047-on-chromebook-acer-c720p/#findComment-2200677 Share on other sites
