d-one
Hello i just finished installing everything on my hackintosh. It seems like i don't have a EFI partition for some reason, my EFI is in my main hard drive partition. Only way i can boot is with the USB PEN Drive to load the boot loader.(I have an extra partition on my SSD to install windows later not sure it it matters)Can this be fixed by manually creating an EFI partition? How to do so?Info:/dev/disk0 (internal, physical):#: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER0: GUID_partition_scheme *240.1 GB disk01: Apple_HFS New Volume 114.7 GB disk0s12: Apple_Boot Recovery HD 650.0 MB disk0s23: Microsoft Basic Data New Volume 115.3 GB disk0s3 System: Z97s krait, i5 4460. d-one
Install Clover : http://sourceforge.net/projects/cloverefiboot/ Once you uncompress and open the installer, you should see Personalize / Customize once you arrive to disk selection, click on it . Select install Clover to UEFI and wait . Reboot and voila' . Clover installed to your EFI partition . Cheers - Joel Hi. Thanks for the reply. So even tho i don't currently have a EFI partition clover will make one for me in the installation process? I was under the impression had to have one in the first place before... Clover does not create and EFI partition on post install, so using it if there is no partition doesn't work at all. My mistake was that i formatted my HD in windows, creating 2 partitions one for each OS, one HFS for OS X and another NTFS for windows, that was a big mistake. To correct things i reinstalled everything and right before the installation process i used the disk utility from the installer to first erase and format my drive then use it to create the correct partitions, one normal for OS X and a MSDOS FAT for windows. As soon as i booted my EFI partition was right there in my diskutil list. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/310018-cant-boot-from-hd-no-efi-partition/#findComment-2200096 Share on other sites
