bobble999
Morning all, I've been a lurker on here for a good while, making the occasional post, but reading more than I post (search is my friend!) All that said, I'm struggling with recent mono purchase - specifically an AsRock z77m vPro. I cannot see any way to make this boot from UEFI disks apart from a usb key, which seems to pretty much mess up my attempts to build a proper rig. I bought it to replace my recently expired Gigabyte Z77M-D3H so I could lift and shift the LGA155 chip and the memory that was in the GA board straight onto the AsRock. It would appear that I might have made an error......... So, my question again - has anyone tried using the AsRock board - specifically for El Capitan (or Yosemite), using Clover? I've tried the different Bios updates and none seem to fix this - my well just junk the board and use it for a windows gaming rig..... WaldMeister
Hi, Just some basic troubleshooting here.. The HDD's have been formatted in GPT? Does Windows boot in UEFI mode? Did you try installing it on the SSD, HDD, or both? What are your options after booting the installation from USB? bobble999
Yes - disks are formatted Mac Journaled, with GUID. Using an SSD for the main boot drive - "normal" HD for my data drive Problem is that the drives are not showing as UEFI in the BIOS config - the only ones that does is the USB drive. I read somewhere that this mob doesn't support UEFI booting...... TheRacerMaster
All Z77 boards should support UEFI booting. You probably forgot to install a bootloader to your SSD/HDD, which is why you can't boot OS X. bobble999
Apparently not so, although info on this board is limited And I have installed boot loader on them - like I said, I may not post but I do search and read ;-) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/309986-build-question-asus-mobos/#findComment-2199605 Share on other sites
carbo178
you must boot the pendrive, at boot screen go to Clover boot options and select "Add to boot options for all entries". Reboot without pendrive. P.S. bios settings in the tab "Boot" (advanced mode): CSM > Disabled Secure boot > Other OS 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/309986-build-question-asus-mobos/#findComment-2199624 Share on other sites
bobble999
P.S. bios settings in the tab "Boot" (advanced mode): CSM > Disabled Secure boot > Other OS This option does not appear to be present on the BIOS? carbo178
Click F7 (advanced mode) you found CSM (Compatibility Support Mode) and Secure boot in the Boot section Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/309986-build-question-asus-mobos/#findComment-2213201 Share on other sites
bobble999
F7 just asks me to discard changes? Also, found CSM in the options, but no secure boot in boot section. Forgot to update the original post btw - its an ASRock, not Asus.... Really hating this crappy mobo - finally gotten around to re- building and its a PITA Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/309986-build-question-asus-mobos/#findComment-2213211 Share on other sites
