Brand55
Hi all. I've managed to get El Cap (10.11.1) booting and working well on my ASUS K56CA by using a clover directory from here. His laptop is very similar, and has almost identical specs for most components. Previously I was using a DSDT for my board, and SMBIOS MacbookPro 9,2. Now I am using the files from this guys download, including DSDT, SSDT, kexts, config.plist. Now, everything which is supported works beautifully, including sound, which I was having trouble with. I'm using his DSDT and everything seems good, except that my built in webcam is no longer recognised, and neither is one of my two USB 2.0 ports. I have tried: Swapping in my old DSDT to the new clover dir. Switching SMBIOS back MacbookPro9,2 (from 8,1) in Clover boot menu. Nothing changed, so I'm totally lost as to what is causing this. I have IOReg reports from when the webcam does and doesn't work. It seems the USB devices have the wrong addresses under AppleUSB20InternalIntelHub@1a100000. Booting with the new clover config I get PRT1, PRT3, PRT5 instead of PRT1 PRT2 PRT3. I'm not really sure where to go from here. Any idea what the fix is? Attached are my IOReg files, and an ls of my clover directories with and without working USB. falanx
You probably shouldn't use that dsdt, ssdt and config at all. You have to use your own, for k56ca every usb port should work vanilla. If you use other laptops dsdt, probably for k55 the webcam and usb ports are not defined where they should be for k56.
