giomacos
Hello, I'm looking for help. I installed jas 10.4.7 on vmware 5.5.1 The installation process seems to be ok but, since the first restart, the os is not able to boot. My processor is a Pentium4 2,8GHz socket 478. Using cpu-z I checked that it supports both SSE2 and SSE3. Could someone kindly help me, please? Thank you Giovanni Using the verbose boot option I collected these messages: CPU features: FPU VME DE PSE TSC MSR PAE MCE CX8 APIC SEP MTRR PGE MCA CMOV PAT PSE36 CLFSH DS ACPI MMX FXSR SSE SSE2 SS EST CPI estended features: Local APIC version not 0x14 as expected Enabling XMM register save/restore and SSE/SSE2 opcodes [RTCLOCK] frequency 2800000000 ACPI CA 20051117 [debug level=0 layer=0] AppleACPICPU: ProcessorApicId=0 LocalApicId=0 Enabled ..... ..... using 1013 buffer headers and 1013 cluster IO buffer headers IOAPIC: Version 0x11 Vectors 0:23 ACPI: System State [s0 S5] (S0) panic(cpu 0 caller 0x0019C352): Unresolved kernel trap (CPU 0, type 14=page fault), registers: .... .... giomacos
Hello, I solved the problem! During installation, I forgot to select custom install and so I didn't install the "patch" for my cpu. Now the os boots correctly, but I can only see the mouse pointer on a blue desktop and nothing else... Bye Giovanni
giomacos
I solved also the last problem: the error was that during custom install I didn't select another important patch (combo). Now it works.
