Henninges Posted November 28, 2015 Share Posted November 28, 2015 hi there... some years ago, i build successfull a x58 hackintosh, but the motherboard was broked up after some month. because of xmas i ran out of money a little bit, so i want to buy some "cheaper" components for my second rig... it should based on an four or six core xeon 5520/5560 cpu and a supermicro x8sti-f serverboard. the question is not about the cpu, it will work for sure...but what about the motherboard ? i want to try the supermicro, because it is really cheap, compared to other old x58 boards, the six core to have a litte bit fun with it... all in all, the total price of these two pieces is about €170 . i would like to use an 120gig ssd for osx and a extra hdd for storage, i already have here...
