glaceau Posted October 21, 2006 Share Posted October 21, 2006 having issues after install. a) sound (i have a dimension e310 or 3100) and programs seem to close after i try to open them? they bounce on the dock and then go away. any advice would be appreciated. thanks! sadiekiller Posted October 21, 2006 Share Posted October 21, 2006 The sound is jsut something that you might not be able to use. check for compatability in the Wiki. which programs do this? if iTunes and basic programs do it, then you have a problem. if they are things like Photoshop, then you just don't have rossetta enabled. to enable it, right-click on the icon and do get info. then there should be a check box or something like that. glaceau Posted October 21, 2006 Author Share Posted October 21, 2006 i have SOME issues with universal apps and sometimes have to open the install in rosetta? the sound i can deal with for now until i find a fix somehow. but i got aim, aol, flash to install ok. i havent opened itunes yet b/c no sound. i cannot fun firefox. flash universal had to be installed using rosetta. also i seem to have to run safari in rosetta with flash installed even though its the universal. ? glaceau Posted October 21, 2006 Author Share Posted October 21, 2006 its a 2.8ghz p4 ht and i have a 915 chipset. the osx i have is 10.4.1 perhaps some of the software i am trying to install will not work with that. is there an update to 10.4.8? glaceau Posted October 21, 2006 Author Share Posted October 21, 2006 well i managed to install photoshop cs, flash and dreamweaver just fine... so thats good. im dlding the update now. hopefully that fixes my sound. the system is going much faster than the G5 i have to compare this to. fun times.
