vince026
I just installed the GM and my external soundcard (lexicon alpha) is acting strange.. Everytime when the audio is silent/idle i get this high pitchy noise. If i play something with audio it disappears but after that the noise comes back again. I'm currently solving this by playing my itunes playlist with the volume at 0%. This card has worked OOB since mavericks and it relies on drivers built in by apple (coreaudio?). Does anyone have an idea how to solve this? Here are my specs btw: Gigabyte Z77m-D3h Core i5 2500k @ 4.3Ghz Corsair XMS3 DDR3 4gb x 2 Gigabyte G1 GTX 970 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/307995-the-captain-broke-my-external-sound-card-lexicon-alpha/ Share on other sites
IronManJFF
This may sound stupid but have you tried un-pluging and replugging the card and re-select the appropriate ports in the sound Control Panel...I am using a Focusrite iTrack Solo so I am really curious to see if I will experience the same problem as you do once I install GM tonite or tomorrow (it is fine under PB6) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/307995-the-captain-broke-my-external-sound-card-lexicon-alpha/#findComment-2166894 Share on other sites
drchicago
If you ever figure it out, please share. My Lexicon Alpha broke as well with El Capitan. Generic (and not helpful) statement from Lexicon's website reads: To keep your system working normally with the affected products, Lexicon strongly recommends waiting before upgrading your operating system to OS X 10.11 El Capitan until full software testing and verification has been completed.
