mercuris
Hello, I tried searching the forum and couldn't find the answer to my problem so I figured I'd ask and see if anyone could help, and I apologize in advance if this is a stupid question. I'm using the JaS 10.4.5 OS X x86 install dvd and I have an AMD Athlon 64 X2 processor on an nforce4 based motherboard. I have a SATA hdd (which i use to boot windows XP) but I know OS X doesn't like nforce4 SATA so I put a 40GB IDE hdd in. It shows up as Harddrive 0 and the SATA hdd is 1. Anyway, I formatted the IDE harddrive a few ways (following a few guides on here) but when I boot from the OSX dvd, everything is all fine and good until it comes time to find a place to install the OS. None of the harddrives show up on there but the install dvd shows up. Anyone have any ideas on getting OS X to recognize my IDE drive? Thanks

And the formatted HDD should be fat32, seems to work fine that way, and MBR, not the new hard drive way by MS.
