Proteos
Hi everyone, I'm having a problem with a build I've just made: Gigabyte GA-Z97P-D3 with i7-4790K Zotac GTX 980 AMP other stuff I don't think are involved in my problems To summarize: I've successfully installed Clover, Yosemite (X.10.1 first) anbd the nVidia Web drivers. On the first reboot after that, all seems to be ok (I've not tested the sound yet though): the screen is clean, I can run OpenGL tests (e.g. tests from OpenGL Extensions Viewer) cleanly. The display is an Iiyama 27" 2560x1440 But once I begin adding stuff on the hard drive, especially creating directories directly under "/" and migrating my profile stuff from my good ol' MacPro, things go awry. After reboot, I get massive glitches: old window positions are displayed at random, which result in a blinking screen or a display masked login panel or all matter of fun (in the dwarf fortress meaning). However, screenshots are clean. See example below with first the screenshot and then a photo of the display (if everything was okay, they should be the same!): (the moiré effect is due to the camera taking the photo) I can have a functionning display again by upgrading to X.10.2 (and installing the appropriate nVidia drivers). But once again if I start doing real stuff, the issue comes back. I've ended giving a try to DarwinDumper to see if I could spot something different between these 2 situations. As I am not a specialist (at all), the only thing I could spot is that the Audio interfaces are not listed in the same order. When I have problems, the audio from the HDMI of my graphics card is listed first. So my question are: is it possible that my problems are caused by this inversion? is it possible to ensure that one particular audio interface is loaded first? How can I do that? More generally how can I solve this problem?
